What this service is
MuniAudit is a free automated accessibility checking tool. It loads publicly accessible web pages and evaluates them against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA success criteria.
What it is not
This service is not legal advice and does not constitute a formal accessibility conformance statement, a VPAT, or a certification of compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act or any other law. A report showing no findings does not establish compliance. Consult your own counsel about your entity's obligations and posture.
Accuracy
Automated testing can verify roughly a third of the WCAG 2.1 AA success criteria. Findings from the visual-review pass are produced by a language model, are labelled as such, carry a confidence level, and may be wrong. Verify findings before acting on them. The service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind.
Acceptable use
Do not use this service to place load on infrastructure you do not own or have permission to test. Requests are rate limited for that reason. Automated or bulk submission is not permitted without prior arrangement — if you represent an association and want to scan member sites at volume, get in touch and we will help you do it properly.
Availability
The service may be unavailable, changed, or withdrawn at any time. It is offered at no cost and with no service commitment.
